Some days are shaped by simple pleasures, while others are redeemed by them. This week is about doing something we'd only dream about doing if we only had the time. It's simply to beautiful to let these sunny days pass... Enjoy them while they last!
To help, my 8 year old son and I came up with some family friendly ideas that we can do to enjoy some Summer fun in Sherwood Oregon, and take advantage of this heat-wave while we have it. Here's our TOP 10 list of things to do... We hope you enjoy them and look forward to any comments of ideas you have to share too.
1. Visit Sherwood's Snyder/Sunset Park - It's fun to play in the Water park and sandbox. There's covered areas and many shade trees to escape the sun if needed!
2. Go to Sherwood Baskin Robbins and chill out with a couple scoops of your favorite ice-cream!
3. Invite some friends over to play in the hose, sprinkler, kiddy pool, the slip n' slide or have a water balloon fight. Good clean fun that makes the top of the free list!
(Shop in Sherwood- You can stop by Mud Puddles Toys & Books, Al's Garden Center, Home Depot or Target in Sherwood for some of these items)
4. Go swimming at the Sherwood YMCA and play on the water-slide - It may be indoors, but it's lined with windows and tons of fun!
5. Try out Ice Skating at the Sherwood Ice Arena - A hot summer day is a perfect excuse to hit the ice!
6. Walk around Old Town Sherwood and enjoy the shops - A bit of meandering and window shopping always does some good... A little bite at a local cafe or bistro, even better!
7. Head down to Old Town Sherwood to the Public Library for some rest and relaxation with books, movies and a little A/C...
8. Go to the Sherwood Regal Cinemas for a fun summer flick. It's always a cool place to go. Let's not forget about the Free Family Film Festival on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!
9. Be one with nature at the Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge. Check out the exhibits and indoor and outdoor viewing areas. Learn a little history about our beautiful area and view life from a different perspective!
10. Pack a picnic, pick up a book or grab some board games. Sometimes just sitting around whether indoors or out is a refreshing way to spend the day!

My son Mason wants me to also include going to Safari Sams fun center for some video games, pizza and putt-putt golf! Good idea Mason, thanks for sharing that and we'll see what we can do!

COFFEE CENTRAL CAFE We have lots of yummy treats... We bake our own scones, muffins & cookies... We added Malts, and Kidz Creamz, Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Vanilla, & Orange Creamsicle, Plus lots of flavors for Italian Sodas, AND ICE CREAM CONES TOO
Our son created a new drink.... "A blended Italian Soda" YUM!
I would have to agree... Coffee Central Cafe in Sherwood Oregon is pretty darn good! Our whole family loves it and it's a nice treat for mom when I have to spend time waiting for the kids to tour the entire Mud Puddles Toys and Books store!
